Brand Spotlight: Sufficient-C Vitamin C Drink

Why Vitamin C?

It’s not new, it’s not exciting, but it’s a foundational building block of life for our bodies.  While it’s true that there are hundreds of supplements on the market (all too many are cheap, imported inferior supplements with very low efficacy and a low absorption rate,  that anyone can brand and sell online).  When it comes to Vitamin C, many incorrectly believe that all Vitamin C’s are created equally.  After all, isn’t it just Ascorbic Acid that is quite common and cheap?

In this case, that would be like asking “Isn’t a Bentley Flying Spur” just a regular, common, cheap car?”  The answer, of course, would be a resounding “NO”!  There’s a big difference in lots of products, and Sufficient-C is to the Vitamin-C market very much like the Bentley is to automobiles.  It’s a premium brand that costs more, but as you would expect, you get way more for your dollar.

This Brand Spotlight Feature is not about Vitamin C in general and its health benefits (I’m hoping you have some idea of that already), but if you’d like to know more about the basics, please see our review on Vitamin C powders and why vitamin C is important in the first place!  It’ll be eye-opening to you I’m sure!

Is There Any Good Science Supporting  Vitamin C and Sufficient-C?

There have been many orthomolecular physicians such as Dr. Hugh Riordan, Dr. Ron Hunninghake, Dr. Abram Hoffer,  Dr. Robert F. Cathcart, Dr. Linus Pauling,  Dr. Thomas Levy, Dr. Andrew Saul and Dr. Suzanne Humphries that have championed Vitamin C’s effectiveness and believe that  I.V. vitamin C and high dose oral vitamin C are helpful treatments to have in one’s arsenal when boosting natural immunity, battling cancer, minimizing the side effects of chemotherapy, combating high cholesterol and of course fighting viral and bacterial infections.

Why Sufficient-C?

I would love to unpack the benefits of Sufficient-C as opposed to regular, commonly available Ascorbic Acid, but instead of my musings, I think it would be far more helpful and compelling to hear the personal story of the founder and creator of Sufficient-C.  Caralyn Vessal is a real-life study of why a product like Sufficient-C is not only extra-ordinarily beneficial but how it came to be and what makes it stand so far above the competition that it really is in a class of its own.  Here’s a portion of her story:

When my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, she struggled with both the physical effects of her disease as well as her chosen conventional cancer treatment. I was struggling with both tremendous concern for her health and that same treatment.

Knowing that the body’s need for vitamin C is increased when stressed with illness, it was clear to me that my mother was not getting nearly enough. As a very persistent daughter, I think it is fair to say that she was getting tired of my mantra of immune supportive recommendations that always included high-dosed-vitamin C-supplementation.

As a result my mother also grew leary of what she felt were a tirade of suggestions.  She even professed that she was unwilling to add yet a “single other vitamin supplement” to her daily routine! This was terribly concerning to me because I was scared she was already not getting ample nutritional support from diet and supplementation to help support the challenges of her disease and the consequences of her chemical cancer treatment.

One such challenge was with dehydration, requiring many unnecessary emergency room visits.

Caralyn’s story is not unique.  As I write this article, my own family is struggling with the very same issues.  My brother-in-law is fighting with the after-effects of Leukemia, and while he successfully shut down the spread of this deadly cancer, he struggles with immunity issues related to his blood quality.  His wife (my sister) has told me that he will NOT continue to take any vitamin supplements that he doesn’t see as “tasty and enjoyable”.

While children often don’t like supplements without sugar and unnecessary additives, every kid we know loves Sufficient-C, and if nothing else, that alone is worth the price!

While many would balk at the idea of refusing nutrition based on its taste, the sad fact is that most people will either consciously or subconsciously, cease eating or drinking something they don’t enjoy.  I guess that’s part of being human!

The Problem is Compounded

It’s fairly well-known that a human body does not create Vitamin-C (thus the need for supplements or lots of good, healthy foods).  However, when someone is ill or experiencing a time of elevated stress (physically, mentally or both), the need for Vitamin C increases substantially as the body fights free radical damage brought on by that stress.  But, there’s HUGE problem shaping up here.

You see, since most people won’t take vitamins on a regular basis at the best of times, it’s a challenge to get them into a good habit of taking necessary supplements or eating the proper food.  If that’s not a big enough challenge, consider that while you are trying to convince someone to eat well and take necessary supplementation, the problem is compounded by the fact that government recommendations for Vitamin C include dosages that are unbelievably lower than good science tells us we actually need.

You’ll need about 300 of these bad boys to give you enough Vitamin C to fight off infection. 15,000 mg. of vitamin C when ill is often not even enough, while an orange gives you 50 mg – 100 mg!

So how on earth are you supposed to develop a habit of taking vitamins that taste bad, and then add to that the need to take VERY HIGH doses (of Vitamin C) in order to see a life-changing result?  Let’s continue with Caralyn’s story:

Vitamin C is imperative for a healthy functioning immune system. Getting truly sufficient amounts can be daunting, particularly so during times of illness, when the body’s immune system needs increased immune support throughout the day….Yes, you read that correctly…throughout the day!

Vitamin C is not stored for very long given it is a water soluble vitamin. Therefore we must be unrelenting in our dosing for sufficient support. So sad that so many patients actually lie in hospital beds trying to fight off infections, but rarely if ever are prescribed vitamin C, which is imperative for the immune system to fight infections. It was mind boggling to me then and remains so…

We all know to include vitamin C in our diet to avoid Scurvy, but the sorely low recommended daily allowance, RDA, can do little more than even that. It can’t adequately support an immune system that needs to combat viruses and bacteria on a daily basis, all-year-round…and certainly can not support chronic disease! This is why the idea that ramping up immune support exclusively in the colder months can be very detrimental to a starving immune system.

Just to give you a point of reference, a mid size orange provides about 50 milligrams of vitamin C. The RDA for a woman regardless of her size is 75 mg and for a man, 90 mg. In comparison a 150 pound animal creates approximately 15,000 mg. of vitamin C a day naturally and even more when stressed! Bigger animals make more! Our ancestors lost this ability to create similar amounts of vitamin C due to a gene mutation but our ancestors’ diets were rich in vitamin C, abundant vegetation grown from vitamin and mineral rich soil, not like the depleted soil of today.

Traditional doctors rarely if ever promote the importance of vitamin C in the prevention or treatment of the various infections and chronic ailments that abound. If you need proof of this statement, just think back to a time that you or a family member might have been suffering and/or even hospitalized with an infection. Was vitamin C prescribed? If so how much?Consider yourself one of the very lucky few if your answer is “yes” and even luckier if the dosage offered came close to 15,000 mg. when in fact 15,000 mg. of vitamin C when ill is often not even enough!

High dose vitamin Chas been reported to help ward off infections like the flu, treat the flu, promote collagen production and reduce the side-effects of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.  Patients adhering to nutrition-rich programs are known to have less side effects, suffer less nausea and benefit from reduced pain and swelling following radiation.

They also benefit from faster healing after surgery because vitamin C promotes collagen production and collagen production promotes healing! Yet it is incredibly unfortunate most oncologists do not promote vitamin C, leaving patients to draw the false conclusion that,“if my oncologist doesn’t support vitamin C, it has no merit.” Our answer to that is “huh?”

So How Does One Overcome the Problem of Not Taking Enough Nutrition or Not Taking it At ALL?

Enter a revolutionary product that effectively saturates your cells with life-giving anti-oxidants while stimulating your brain’s level of the “enjoyment factor” (kinda like the feeling you get when eating a cheesy piece of fresh, wood-fired oven pizza when you’re really hungry!).  Can you guess the name of the product?  Let’s hear more of how Sufficient-C founder Caralyn Vessal’s personal story can potentially change your life!

After an extensive search, I soon realized that there was nothing on the market that had the attributes of a delicious, refreshing, high dose vitamin C drink that encouraged frequent and compelling hydration and vitamin C fortification and generously dosed, foundational immune support.Sufficient-C® Lemon Peach Immune-Ade drink mixwas born out of my need to help my mother and my hope to help other patients out there that must be experiencing her similar struggles.

In formulating Sufficient-C®, I knew that sweetening it with sugar was not a sensible option since cancer is known to feed on sugar. Many holistic treatment protocols expressly advise to avoid sugar. It is also a little known fact that sugar actually impedes vitamin C absorption.Yet, many vitamin C supplements on the market today actually contain sugar or equally troubling, artificial sweeteners ( which are known to cause cancer ) to the detriment of trusting consumers. A premium grade stevia was my perfectly, sweet, natural solution. I have always been a stevia proponent. I knew when high quality stevia is used judiciously it is quite satisfying. Natural plant based fruit extracts were also used for a real, natural flavor.

Solubility was equally important because…let’s face it…looks needed to matter too, given the fact that  Sufficient-C® was being made to be a lifestyle drink that would require a long term commitment. Often “healthier“ drink mixes for various reasons, do not fully dissolve in water. It is not at all appetizing to see clumps floating, sinking or sticking to the side of a beverage glass. As a result, it was imperative that Sufficient-C® also be 100% water soluble.

So we see how Sufficient-C is different and how it has all the hallmarks of a product you’ll LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING every day – especially knowing how extraordinarily beneficial it is to your body’s health. Sufficient-C® offers one-of-a-kind, flavor with function in the form of a hydrating, satisfying immune supportive drink mix. It is a refreshing, seamless solution for those that are tired of swallowing many pills and capsules and simply need and want more vitamin C.  Sufficient-C® also contains generous doses of L-lysine, bromelain and a 97% pure, caffeine-free green tea extract too for outstanding immune and inflammation support like never before!

A Happy Ending For the Sufficient-C Story?

Indeed!  Countless numbers of Sufficient-C users have become regular users, but even better, they are HIGH DOSE regular users.  I have 2 friends who in the last week (from the time I wrote this article) have started regularly using Sufficient-C and have committed to long-term usage given the taste and the benefits of high dosing.  During a time of concern (ie. Coronavirus Pandemic), the trend towards shoring up our bodies against outside invasions (ie. boosting immunity) is one that will continue to grow year after year.

What Do Professionals Think?

A growing number of health professionals worldwide are not only prescribing high doses of Vitamin C, but more to the point, they are prescribing SUFFICIENT-C supplement.  That says a lot and given my own experience with Sufficient-C, I would agree with their endorsements.  Here’s are just a few:

I prescribe a lot of vitamin C. There are many people in my practice and my family who refused to take plain sodium ascorbate. Sufficient-C solved that problem. Because it is an amazingly tasty combination of natural flavors, ascorbic acid and caffeine free green tea extract, it is a perfect way to get vitamin C without all the binders and artificial sweeteners. I have suggested this product to hundreds of people from very young ages to the age of 85 – Some very finicky people and not one person has said they didn’t like it– everyone loves it. The flavor is so amazing that it satisfies every pallet. The lemon peach design with the Stevia is perfect because it does not have that normal Stevia aftertaste. It is literally the best healthy drink I’ve ever encountered. I highly recommend this to children and adults. It is especially helpful when requiring higher doses of sodium ascorbate which can be easily blended in to mask the salty taste.

IMMUNE BOOSTER- I could fill a book with suggestions for immune boosters and the old favorite Vitamin C would still come out on top. The issue for many with Vitamin C is that they find it difficult to tolerate the recommended dose necessary for the highest benefit. Introducing Sufficient-C® Lemon Peach Immune-Ade drink mix, made by the same company as Glutenizer®, they have managed to pack into each dose 4,000 mg of non-GMO Vitamin C along with generous doses of L-Lysine, Bromelain and a 94% pure Green Tea Extract; all in a satisfying, natural stevia sweetened formula that is non-GMO, gluten and sugar-free. I am so impressed with the product that I have included it in the RESOURCES section of my upcoming book “MASTERING ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE, Your Family’s Guide To Wellness.

Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, the world-famous Riordan Clinic (est. 1975) is a non-profit clinic that offers nutrition-based health therapies.  In their quest to treat root causes of a variety of illnesses, the clinic prescribes lots of Vitamin C.  As it happens, the Riordan Clinic has approved and offered Sufficient-C to its clientele/patients.  In a recent testimonial from the clinic’s director of marketing, Sufficient-C has risen to the top of the list of, not only Vitamin C options but of all products offered by the clinic!  They are proud to partner with Sufficient-C because of the product’s qualities and specifically its efficacy.  The clinic went on to praise the incredible customer service you’ll get from Sufficient-C as well!

The Take Home

If you haven’t figured it out yet, let me summarize the point of this brand spotlight!  The bottom line is that even under normal daily conditions, you need WAY more vitamin C (for optimal health – not just to fight off Scurvy) than you’ll get by eating an orange or having a glass of juice.  But, in order to get that amount of Vitamin-C, you’ll have to swallow dozens of pills or drink many glasses of tart, sour and otherwise un-appetizing Ascorbic Acid.  Sufficient-C takes care of your need for high doses of life-saving Vitamin-C while at the same time providing a level of enjoyment reserved for an after-dinner Mars bar and a shot of Bailey’s Irish Creme!

Sufficient-C is the absolute best way to lay a foundation of nutritional health and to do it wisely and strategically!

In my opinion (after over 40 years of nutritional experience, but no letters behind my name), I’d say do yourself a favor and grab at least a month’s supply of Sufficient-C.  But, if you’d like to save around $50 on a bundle, it’s a no-brainer to order 6 containers at a time right HERE!
