Top Ski Boot Bag Comparison Chart

Finding the perfect ski boot bag for your needs might not always be easy and sometimes people even give up and decide to go with a normal bag in which they could fit the boots. Sometimes the boots are even forced inside and this could damage the bag and cause a lot of discomfort to you when carrying these bags.

Ski Boot Bag Buying Guide

That is why we have decided to compile a list of important features that you will need to look for in your ski boot bag or whichever one you plan on choosing. By using these features as a guideline, you can be sure about the quality of the bag and the versatility and when you put those two together, you will definitely have great value for your money.

Key Features

The design of the ski boot bag is not the only thing you need to worry about and sometimes it might not be the best choice to go for the cheapest bag on the market. These features will help ensure that you get real value for your money and that you are able to pick the best ski boot bag within your price range or budget.

Material quality

You will definitely need to look at the type of materials used in the bag and weaker materials might not necessarily hold up under the pressure or the weight of the boots. By having more durable materials and even better stitching in your bag, you will be able to carry heavier loads of equipment.

Size

The size of the bag will greatly depend on the size of your boots and the bigger your boots, the bigger the bags needs to be, but we also recommend buying a bigger bag from the start as this will give much more space on the inside, meaning that you can easily carry all you skiing equipment along as well.

Added Pockets

While the added storage pockets might not be a necessity to everyone it will certainly decrease a number of items that you will be carrying in your hands and this could definitely provide you with much more value.

Waterproof

Whether you are looking for a ski boot bag or even just a normal ski equipment bag, it is fundamentally important that the bag is waterproof. If the bag is waterproof, you can carry it in all weather conditions and this will be great for those unexpected water downpours.

Carry Mechanism

Having a bag is great, but you will be the one carrying it up the mountains or through airports and when the carrying mechanism is uncomfortable, it will also become much heavier to carry. We recommend looking for a comfortable and padded shoulder strap to keep your shoulder comfortable and allow you to walk longer distances with the bag.

These five features might cost you a little extra on your ski boot bag, but it will give you so much more versatility and value for your money. By ensuring that you have checked all of these features in your bag, you can be sure that you will have one of the best ski boot bags on the market.

With that being said, let’s look at the top ski boot bags of this season:

5.  Sukoa Ski Boot Bag Backpack 50L

Materials: Polyester

The Sukoa just maybe should have been #1 on our list!  It’s one that I probably would choose for my own because of its versatility and its looks.  This huge bag is meant to be carried on your back and it goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) that it can be used for a whole host of things that have nothing to do with skiing or ski boots!  That in itself is a great reason to buy this bag and on top of that, it’s under $50!!

That being said, it’s one of the better quality bags we’ve reviewed, and it’s virtually unmatched in performance when it comes to the ski hill.  Featuring extra heavy, weather-resistant zippers (and exterior), it has the space for not only a set of ski boots, but helmet, gloves, goggles and lots of room for accessories too.  It has 3 separate compartments to organize things a bit more precisely, and here’s the kicker; If you plan your trip very thoughtfully, this may be the only travel bag you’ll need on your entire trip (including clothing and toiletries).  Of course, there’s no real provision to conveniently pack your skis, but hey, you can’t have everything!

The interior boot bag compartment is lined with a water-resistant material (coating) to protect valuables and it features side straps to attach additional clothing items like shirts or jackets, etc.  Here’s a good feature I almost forgot to mention;  the boot pocket/compartment is reinforced with extra padding so boots won’t dig into your back while carryinig the pack.  It seems like lots of details were thought of in advance to create one of the better all-around ski/utility bags we’ve seen.

Pros:

  • Reasonably priced
  • Stylishly designed
  • Extremely durable
  • Provides great weather protection
  • Large main compartment enough for carrying everything for an entire ski trip

Cons:

  • Not fully waterproof (but then, what actually is?)

6.  High Sierra Junior Trapezoid Boot Bag

Materials: Ripstop nylon

The High Sierra Junior Trapezoid Boot bag has been included to ensure that the younger skiers also have the opportunity to carry their own boots for a change. This bag is much similar to the larger Trapezoid boot bag, but it is a little smaller, thus only accommodating some of the smaller boot sizes and goggles.

The bag is also extremely durable since it has been constructed from durable ripstop fabrics and the added padding on the shoulders and the back area will even provide you younger one with comfort when carrying their very own ski boot bag. This bag is also available in a multitude of colors to choose from and should be an easy for choice for younger skiers.

Furthermore, the bag also included a webbed top handle to use for your children and this should make the moving from place to place easier. The bag is also fully waterproof and since children are sometimes careless, this will be a great addition to ensure that everything on the inside is dry.

We do recommend this bag for the younger skiers and it also commands the same price as the bigger bags, which might not make it the best choice in terms of value, but since every skier needs a bag, this could be a great gift for your child.

Pros:

  • Extremely durable
  • Padded straps for carrying comfort
  • Large main compartment
  • Fully waterproof

Cons:

  • Bulky design
  • Same price as the adult version

7.  Transpack Edge Isosceles Ski Boot Bag

Materials: 600D polyester

Last but certainly not least, we have the Transpack Edge Isosceles ski boot bag which has been designed from extremely durable polyester materials to help ensure that your bag gives you the best possible longevity.

The bag features an extremely large interior compartment for not only storing your skiing boots but also your goggles and helmets. The size has been designed for a size 13 pair of boots, but you could add a size bigger if you don’t need the goggles or helmet to fit inside.

The bag has also been designed to promote ventilation and the added coating will ensure that there is no buildup of water, which might peer through the bag. The straps have also been padded to ensure that you have the utmost comfort in terms of carrying the bag and the stylish slimmer design will also make this boot easy to transport without those bulky hassles.

This is the most expensive bag on our list, but that should not dissuade you as it does offer great durability and versatility. The bag is highly recommended for the serious skiers and we believe you get great value for your money.

Pros:

  • Extremely durable
  • Comfortable to carry
  • Water resistant
  • Promotes ventilation
  • Provides multifunctional use

  • The bag is expensive
